b'Donor Impact |CONCORD HOSPITAL HEALTH SYSTEMMarc Desgroseilliers, RN, has been taking care of patients at Concord Hospital for 29 years. But this past Fall, the longtime nursing supervisor became the patient.GivingDesgroseilliers was feet away from the Emergency Department (ED), talking with his wife, when she noticed his speech was slurring and his face was drooping. She ushered him to the ED, where he received immediate attention.I was having a stroke, and I was lucky I was at the Hospital, says Desgroseilliers, Back who was back at work six days later. The experience confirmed what I already knew; that we give excellent care to people every day.In nearly three decades as a nurse supervisor and nurse manager in different departments, including The Family Place and in his current role supervising the Professional Practice and Development Department, Desgroseilliers has created a positive environment for those in his charge. He loves the unpredictability of his work, whether onboarding nursing students, contributing to patient care or comforting a grieving family. Desgroseilliers also prioritizes giving back in a variety of ways, including as a respected leader, CHampions donor, member of the Golf Tournament Planning Committee, and as a Concord Hospital Trust ambassador. My family and I are fortunate to have benefited from all the Hospital has to offer, he says, so its a small thing to give back to support others. Whatever help an individual may be seeking, whether its financial assistance or services, I want that to be available when they need it.'
