In 2022, Jared Guilmett joined the Regional Council, a standing committee of the Concord Hospital Trust Board of Trustees charged with planning local events, raising funds, guaranteeing that gifts are used as donors envisioned, and creating awareness of Trust goals in the Lakes and Three Rivers Regions. The assignment gave the Laconia native and 2011 Laconia High School graduate an opportunity to help his hometown prosper in the health care realm through its new partnership with Concord Hospital, while allowing him to connect the dots between health care and philanthropy. “It’s so uplifting to know we have people in the profession who care so deeply,” he said at the time, “and that the Trust is looking after that.” Guilmett describes his time on the Regional Council as a “tremendous experience,” one that allowed him to work alongside colleagues to be “strong stewards for the community in relation to the Concord Hospital Trust and the whole system.” His involvement expanded when he joined the Trust’s Stewardship Committee, which oversees funding for facility and program upgrades throughout the hospital system. Three years later, Guilmett, an architect at Misiaszek Turpin, has further increased his commitment to his town and the hospital as a member of the Trust Board. While joining the board was a natural progression of his dedication, a key motivation for Guilmett’s expanded involvement is ensuring representation for the Laconia and Franklin regions on the Trust Board. He emphasizes the importance of the hospital’s vision to operate as “one system, not as individual locations,” noting that “together we can be stronger, offer incredible services, and have incredible physicians and staff across the board.” He’s eager to support the community he lives in through this deeper level of involvement. Guilmett points to tangible improvements he’s already witnessed, pointing to the dental clinic in Laconia receiving new chairs and physical enhancements to better serve the community and funding that helps patients with medical bills, prescriptions, and clothing after hospital stays. “It’s not always an immediate tangible thing,” he says, “but knowing we’re able to provide these funds and help members in the community makes a huge impact.” Beyond his work with Concord Hospital Health System (CHHS), Guilmett serves his community in other capacities. He’s a director on the board of the Greater Lakes Region Charitable Fund for Children (also known as the Children’s Auction), an organization he’s supported for most of his life. He encourages others to find causes about which they’re passionate and engage with organizations like CHHS that demonstrate “a strong commitment to the regions and the people they serve.” “To be able to support a healthcare system that has such a vast reach,” he says, “is both inspiring and humbling.” Jared Guilmett CONCORD HOSPITAL TRUST 20 “To be able to support a healthcare system that has such vast reach is both humbling and inspiring.” Jared Guilmett CONCORD HOSPITAL TRUST TRUSTEE
