For many years this posed a difficult challenge for the health system and state, resulting in difficulty in discharging patients to skilled nursing facilities. Recognizing this need for more options for longer-term care, CHHS launched an innovative program inthe fall of 2023 to help meet this need. The Skilled and Restorative Care program in Franklin offersthe ability to provide patients more time for rehabilitation after an acute care stay.
