b'10 CONCORD HOSPITAL TRUSTMargaret Pillsbury SocietyMaking a planned gift costs the donor nothing now, but allows the Trust to build financial strength for the future. In tribute to its namesake, the Margaret Pillsbury Society recognizes individuals who support Concord Hospital Health System through charitable bequests or life-income gifts. More than 100 years ago, Pillsburys legacy endowed a free-bed fund for patients unable to pay for their care inthe hospital that was built to honor her name. Not only are planned gifts beneficial to the Trust, but also to the donors who make them. That includes a variety of tax benefits that come with designating a charity as a beneficiary. Making a legacy gift also allows donors who may not be able to make significant gifts during their lifetimeto make a meaningful bequest that costs nothing now, but will make an impact in the future. Planned gifts allow flexibility, and can be structured to fit the donors wishes.Membership in the Margaret Pillsbury Society creates a relationship that simultaneously allows donors a chance to express gratitude, and the health system staff to show appreciation for community members who have included the Trust in their estate plans. Margaret PillsburySociety members are also recognized at an annual event in their honor. Its important for Concord Hospital Health System to meet donors where they are,and appreciate them for what theyre capable of doing now and in the future, explains Marcia Moran, chair of the Trusts Major and Planned Gift AdvisoryCommittee. The [Pillsbury Society] is a great way to allow a donor tocommunicate their gratitude, and the health system can be gratefulnow for those who appreciate what they do, while looking forwardto advancing health care for future generations.
